Maple syrup and maple sugar are all natural sweetener that can be used in any recipe that calls for sugar of a different kind. For every one cup of white sugar that a recipe calls for, substitute in 3/4 of a cup of maple syrup or one cup of maple sugar. For each cup of maple syrup used, decrease the liquid in the recipe by 2-4 tablespoons. Maple syrup does crystalize, so decrease your oven temperature by 25 degrees.
